IronClad Bowls

Transforming loss into legacy, we honor the fallen, be it trees or heroes. I create works that preserve, inspire resilience, & celebrate the beauty of renewal. I’m a proud Veteran crafting artisan made bowls, cutting boards, batea bowls, candle holders, mortar and pestle bowls. I utilize fallen trees, from the local residents, farms and ranches in my local area.

When did you first get started?

Summer 2024

What inspired you to start your business?

After Hurricane Beryl destroyed my neighborhood, there were trees down everywhere and I was also dealing with my divorce. So, I had a calling and He told me to go get all of the wood I can. So, I did. I didn’t even have a tool to my name.

About 3 weeks later I had a ton of wood and no tools, so I drove to McAllen Texas and bought a 1968 12” powermatic lathe. I have not stopped ever sense.

What is your favorite thing to make?

Truly, the act of taking a fallen tree and turning that loss into a legacy, no matter the end result, is what has brought me to this craft.

Where are you from/where did you grow up?

I am originally from Vermont, however, I joined the military at 17 and spent two decades traveling the world!

Share a fun fact about yourself you'd like your customers to know!

I love Thai food and I was fluent in Thai for a time! I love the wood work I do and have been blessed by how much it’s helped my PTSD.
