Backyard Grower
where every grower in the area can be involved at Galveston’s Own Farmers Market!
Local gardeners have long asked us for a way to offer their excess seasonal produce and our Backyard Growers program helps bridge that connection!
The primary intention behind this program is to provide a low-cost entrance into our established marketplace for backyard gardeners of all ages who have occasional abundance they want to share (and make a little bonus money!)
BYG Members may only sell fruits, vegetables, flowers, or eggs. GOFM will provide the tent & tables, we simply ask that you follow our Market Rules!
The Application Process
In order to sell with the BYG, gardeners must:
Once you’ve completed the above, GOFM’s Market Manager will be in contact with you to finalize the process!
We value honesty and a commitment to local, sustainable systems.

Additional Market Rules

Approved Craft Artisan and Service-Provider vendors are eligible to vend up to two (2) Sundays per month. The option to vend more might be opened up to the vendor pending discussion with GOFM staff and their first three (3) GOFM appearances. Vendor appearances must adhere to a set schedule, agreed-upon before their first appearance.
At any given market, GOFM will plan for their to be no more than 4 Artisan Craft vendors at market (this number excludes vendors who sell both artisan products + food products, such as a vendor selling honey + beeswax candles.)
“... I really enjoyed talking to the vendors. All were friendly and passionate about the products they were selling. Bought locally roasted coffee, herbal teas and sour dough bread. We’ll go back and be a regular customer!”
